.:A Platform for All Disasters:.

ALERTWest Situational Awareness Platform

“The success of this [ALERTCalifornia] project is the fires you never hear about.”

Phillip SeLegue, CAL FIRE Staff Chief of Fire Intelligence - LA Times

PRIVATE AND PUBLIC PARTNERSHIPS

We are shaping the future of private and public partnerships

ALERTWest represents a unique partnership between private companies and public agencies. We leverage partnerships between universities, infrastructure companies, organizations, and first responders to create a network of cameras. ALERTWest then provides a situational awareness platform to everyone, including the public, to monitor, respond to, and recover from disasters.

Private and Public Partnerships
AI Wildfire Dection

TIME selected the University of California ALERTCalifornia program, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), and industry partner Digital Path’s AI fire detection tool as one of the best inventions of 2023.

SITUATIONAL AWARENESS DURING DIASTERS

FOR
INFASTRUCTURE

Infrastructure covers many different facets of our daily lives. From aviation, to telecomunications, to bridges, to power and energy, to railways and roadways, to water and wastemanagement, to recreation, the infrasture that keeps our nation going is impacted by diasters everyday. The ALERTWest system can help build situational awareness around all diasters for these organizations and agencies.

FOR
LAND STEWARDS

As stewards of the land, it is crucial to recognize that private land holdings make up sixty percent of land ownership in the United States. At ALERTWest, we understand the importance of safeguarding our precious resources, and our platform is designed to provide awareness and support around disasters.

FOR
THE PUBLIC

The ALERTWest Situational Awareness Platform is also unique in that all cameras feeds are viewable by the public. During disasters an informed public can make better decisions to protect themselves.

AI DETECTION

AI
WILDFIRE DETECTION

At ALERTWest, we are proud to offer advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology that leverages the power of our system to detect potential fire starts during the day or night. Our system promptly alerts emergency responders, providing them with the location of the likely wildfire. This early warning system plays a crucial role in enabling emergency responders to take immediate action, effectively containing the fire before it has a chance to spread. By doing so, we can help prevent extensive damage and facilitate a faster recovery process.

SITE SELECTION, INSTALLATION, AND SUPPORT

ALERTWest has extensive history with building and maintaining network infrastructure in even the hardest to reach areas. The ALERTWest team is involved in every step of the process of installing and maintaining cameras, from viewshed analysis to providing user support in our Operations Center.

MOBILE SOLUTIONS

The ALERTWest portable camera trailer offers real-time situational awareness during wildland fires and prescribed fires. As a mobile version of the established ALERTWest camera system, it automatically integrates AI detections, weather monitoring, and remote fire line monitoring. Users can immediately access all features, ensuring fire containment and providing operational flexibility with public or private view options.

WHY ALERTWEST

A different approach to building situational awareness for first responders

Our mission is to implement a situational awareness platform that is interoperable and collaborative, that incorporates AI wildfire detection capabilities. The platform aims to assist in minimizing the loss of life, property, and environmental damage caused by disasters.

We leverage partnerships between universities, infrastructure companies, organizations, and first responders to create a network of cameras. ALERTWest provides the interoperable situational awareness platform that anyone can use.
